The Freshman 15: Surviving Your First Year in College

13. Take part in study groups

And while you’re at it, take advantage of your campus’ study programs. While you may be confident of your academic performance during high school, college is vastly different, so studying by yourself all the time and relying on your own performance is never a good idea. Study groups can also help you focus on your examinations. They are also another excellent form of networking.

14. Join a club or two

Join at least one club to help you develop other parts of you that your classes cannot help you with. College is a great time for you to find yourself and know what it is you want to do for the rest of your life. Joining a club can help enhance whatever skills you may already have, or even help you discover new ones. Remember that balance thing mentioned earlier, you also have to balance this one.
