The Freshman 15: Surviving Your First Year in College

7. Stay organized

Easier said than done, of course, especially if you were never big on organizing to begin with. However, you must have at least a rudimentary way of getting your schedules organized. Make sure you have, at least, a calendar to keep track of deadlines and exam schedules.

8. All things in moderation

This includes your social life. A little party here and there from time to time is understandable and unavoidable. But make sure to find the right balance between your academic life and your social life. Not every party is a must-go-to kind. Find that balance, stick to it, and you’ll do just fine.
