Pell Grants and Why You Want Them

Pell Grants are free money the government will give you to use for college. Pell Grants are disbursed on a first come, first served basis. Why do you want to apply for them? Well, for starters, grants are basically free money. You don’t have to pay it back. Also, your odds of getting a Pell Grant are about 1 in 3. Nearly a third of everyone who applies qualifies and qualifying is easy.

To be eligible for a Pell Grant, you must also:

Be an undergrad still working toward your Bachelor’s (there are a few exceptions for students who are enrolled in post-baccalaureate teaching programs)
Be either enrolled or accepted in an eligible certificate or degree program
Be a high school graduate or have your GED
Be a citizen of the United States or a non-citizen who meets certain eligibility requirements
